Interesting few weeks.....

I know I haven't updated my blog in what feels like forever... but there is good reason for it I promise!

So two weeks ago I was getting everything set up for my mom coming down to visit, when she leaves me an offline message on facebook telling me she had something important to tell me. I was thinking something had changed with her flight details but something was niggling at me telling me it was worse than that.... and then she told me my uncle had passed away.

My Uncle Jr. was a good man, we had our differences just like every family but still he was my uncle and I loved him...  I remember Thanksgivings and Christmases at my Mamaw's house where Uncle Jr would be the one to carve the turkey or ham since he was the oldest.... and he always used to get a smack or shouted at because he would eat more of it than he served.... and he always wanted to use his fingers to serve it instead of a fork which my mamaw hated.... I remember him putting me on this big branch on a tree in front of my mamaw's house and pretending like he was going to leave me there because I couldn't get down by myself.... and I remember him coming down to my house to target practice with my daddy, and I got to be the one to put the targets up and take them down, as well as I got to watch and sometimes help them load their guns.... good times..... Now he's up in heaven with my daddy, as well as mamaw and papaw to keep him company and I know he's watching over us... just like they are.

My mom came down on Wednesday afternoon and we spend the week going shopping and making fruit salad as well as working on the kitchen, its coming along very nicely now the cabinets are all up almost and all thats really left is the countertops and tiles.... hopefully it wont take much longer to finish I cant wait until its all done!

Today I went to the doctor.... and he said he thinks I MAY have Endometriosis..... which is a scary thought, and I have an ultra sound scheduled for tomorrow morning to check it out, so please avid readers keep your fingers crossed for me that I dont have this thing!

OMG...

So here it is almost 3am, and I'm wide awake after having already been in tears once tonight....

why you might ask?

Well here's the thing. I have asthma, brought on by allergies, and unfortunately I had to work tonight, so everything Chemists included were closed by the time I got home at 8pm...

Now normally I dont need my inhaler every day, and I didnt notice it was empty the last time I used it, so now I have an empty inhaler, a headache from crying, and the feeling of a 1 ton person sitting on my chest.... it also doesnt help that I sound like I swallowed a squeaky toy every time I try to breath....

Short of going to the hospital and missing work for the 2nd week in a row, there is only one option and that is to drive an hour out of my way to a 24 hour chemist that may or may not be open, I called them and no one picked up the phone.

And nothing is open until after 9:30am...

So now it seems like I'm stuck wheezing and gasping for breath until 11:30am when I get off work (if I can actually make it in) running on about 2 hours sleep (if I can go back to sleep that is) and then I get to go back to a humid indoor pool, and sit in water for 3.5 hours teaching a bunch of little kids all about water safety....

As much as I love my job it does not seem to be worth as much as my health and these asthma attacks and chest infections are starting to get out of hand =(

So here's what I propose happens.... All businesses need to CLEARLY state their trading hours, if you have a website there is no excuse to not have them up! And if you are advertising your business online then you need to have your trading hours on your answering machine. You cannot call yourself a "Day and Night" chemist if you are not open at night! and Everyone has emergencies.... there needs to be a 24 hour chemist in every single suburb, the hospital should not be your only option after 6pm!!!

Now my rant is finished, so I will sit here until the wheezing stops enough for me to go to bed.... at the moment I'm trying out a theory that drinking black tea (no sugar or milk) will help stop it.... it tastes horrible and I've had to pee twice before I could finish the cup, but it seems to be working.... slightly

Stitches, Stuffyness, and Disney (lol)

As promised in the video here's the link to the turtle! It's actually pretty awesome since most of the amigurumi toys are all crochet patterns and when u turn them into knitting patterns they just dont look right... Google does not seem to see a difference in searching for "knitting" patterns vs "crochet" patterns, and 90% of the time I get so frustrated when I'm looking for things because I cant crochet for the life of me.... would be nice if some one could come and teach this uncoordinated lefty how to do it properly!

Hopefully my thumb heals soon and I can get back to knitting without sticking to things, and the rest of me better catch up soon because I'm sick of being sick!!!

No Rest for the Weary...

So here we are again.... the end of yet another horrid week involving high temperatures, chest infections, and delirium...

I've even been way to sick to even finish my current project.... however before I was infected with what feels like the plague, I managed to make my own GIR doll from Invader Zim! One thing to be happy about I guess.

Now I know its not the best in the world, but it is pretty darn close if  I do say so myself, completely 100% my own pattern, which as soon as we get a working scanner it will be uploaded for free! There were a few kinks to work out with the pattern but not to worry they have all been fixed up for my dear sweet viewers.
I have also finished Lewy's balaclava! However once I put the lining in it was a bit tight, but after a few times of wearing it it should stretch out some.

My current project is my own footstool companion cube. But since I've been sick this is as far as I've gotten with it, a pile of squares and love hearts lolz. It will get there though, then I'm bound and determined not to get distracted from finishing my Harry Potter bags.... I only have the Hufflepuff scarves and the Ravenclaw set to finish.

Now for a little while more I'm going to rest and recuperate  Hopefully I'm feeling up to finishing these projects soon!
